2002 Community Builders Association Home of the Year Award

Hurd Park Manor, a enclave of single family homes in the historic Town of Dover, Morris County, N.J. won the 2002 Community Builders Association Home of the Year award in two categories. The challenge on this small site was to create an attractive community of six lots that were only 50 feet in width with a project site area of just over one acre. By means of creative house placement and a consistent palette of exterior cladding materials, a sense of community was created, such that the homes relate to one another while also maintaining their distinctive identies. The homes have an urbane feeling reminiscent of traditional brownstone communities. Michael Gottlieb was the managing principal.
